Contemporary furniture store Shelter on Beverly Boulevard in L.A. has its first summer sale Friday through Aug. 8. Discounts will run 25% to 75% and will include upholstered furniture, lighting, bedding, and wood and metal tables, chairs, consoles and shelving; (323) 937-3222.

A South Bay store stocked with SoHo contemporary? Yes, and some of it is 25% to 75% off through Aug. 3 at Q Design in El Segundo. Modern furnishings giant Bo Concept in Santa Monica is clearing out its warehouse to make room for its 2009 lines. The sleek, black-stained oak Amari dining tables, available in two sizes, have been reduced 40% to $1,139 and $999. Luxehaus is closing its Montana Avenue storefront in Santa Monica and marking down merchandise by 30% to 60%. You’ll find furniture, dinnerware and accessories such as 3-foot ginger jars.
