CBS’ Lara Logan gets promotion
CBS News chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan, is getting a new title: chief foreign affairs correspondent.
A war reporter who has covered Iraq and Afghanistan since the U.S. invasions there, Logan will now be based in Washington and expand her reporting to international security issues and U.S. policy, the network announced Wednesday. CBS said she would continue traveling internationally for stories too.
Logan, who grew up in South Africa, has not been shy about expressing her criticisms of the lack of foreign news on American television.
“If I were to watch the news that you hear in the United States, I’d just blow my brains out because it would drive me nuts,” she told Jon Stewart during an appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” last week.
