‘Early’ boss can sleep in now

CBS News has parted ways with the producer of its morning show after fewer than six months on the job.
Shelley Ross began at “The Early Show” in September, but there had been reports of staff turnover and widespread dissatisfaction with her rule.
Rick Kaplan, executive producer of Katie Couric’s “Evening News,” will temporarily take over for Ross.
“The Early Show” is a perpetual third place in the morning ratings behind NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America.” But CBS has recently put more effort into improving the show.
