Meanwhile, former Kings defenseman Jaroslav Modry has been nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy by the Los Angeles chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Assn. The trophy is presented to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Modry was traded to Philadelphia in February.
