When the weather gets warm, I develop a fondness for the movies I saw in my youth -- big mindless epics that drew me into air-conditioned theaters where huge banners announced “It’s Cool Inside!” Movies like “10,000 BC.” Yes, I know all its flaws, and if I didn’t, lots of e-mails have brought them to my attention. But more than anything “10,000 BC” is a throwback to old Saturday matinee action films filled with wild coincidences and mysterious places. This movie’s heart is not in its computer-generated effects but in its old-fashioned story that determinedly avoids profanity and off-color humor. That may not sound like a lot, but, hey, it’s cool inside.
