Oil and gas lease sale to proceed

The Interior Department said in Juneau that it is moving forward with an oil and gas lease sale covering nearly 4 million acres in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve.
The decision includes a plan to set aside more than 600,000 acres of land considered environmentally sensitive.
The National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska is just west of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
