Philadelphia 12, at Washington 2: Ryan Howard hit two home runs, and the Phillies collected 15 hits and a season high in runs.

Milwaukee 4, at Pittsburgh 1: Ben Sheets (5-1) limited the Pirates to one run despite giving up 11 hits in his second complete game.

at Houston 5, Chicago 3: Shawn Chacon pitched seven solid innings to end his major league record streak of nine consecutive no-decisions to start a season.
