at Colorado 6, New York 5 (13 innings): Matt Holliday hit a tying homer in the ninth inning off Billy Wagner, then singled home the winning run in the 13th to rally the Rockies past the struggling Mets, who lost their fifth consecutive game and fell to 22-24.

Chicago 12, at Pittsburgh 3: Reed Johnson hit a three-run home run and doubled twice to support Carlos Zambrano’s pitching and hitting as the Cubs extended their mastery of the Pirates. The Cubs are 9-1 against the Pirates this season.

San Francisco 8, at Florida 2: Barry Zito earned his first win after eight consecutive losses, giving up one run and three hits in 6 1/3 innings. Bengie Molina and Aaron Rowand hit consecutive home runs for the Giants.

at Washington 5, Milwaukee 1: The Nationals turned shortstop J.J. Hardy’s error into four unearned runs in the sixth inning.

at Houston 4, Philadelphia 3: Hunter Pence hit two home runs and Brandon Backe gave up six hits in 7 1/3 innings to help the Astros win for the 11th time in their last 14 home games.

Cincinnati 3, at San Diego 2: Adam Dunn hit a leadoff home run off Trevor Hoffman in the ninth inning to give the Reds a victory over the Padres.

Arizona 11, at Atlanta 1: Stephen Drew and Eric Byrnes hit home runs and Chris Snyder had a two-run double in the Diamondbacks’ five-run first inning.
