Man is charged in child’s death

A Lancaster man was charged Thursday with the beating death of his girlfriend’s 18-month-old daughter.
Sharieff Brown, 23, is also charged with assault on a child causing death, prosecutors said.
He was being held on $1-million bail.
Brown was baby-sitting his girlfriend’s child Monday when sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a baby not breathing, authorities said. The girl died that night.
A coroner’s autopsy showed that she died of blunt head trauma, authorities said.
