Find of the Week:

Visions of Barbie-ness

The plastic fashion icon gets her holiday moment with a pop-up boutique in Fred Segal Santa Monica featuring accessory collaborations by Patricia Field and Tarina Tarantino, plus dolls outfitted by designers such as Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Sui.

The 300-square-foot Barbie-themed nook showcases cute gift ideas in a range of prices: $28 baby tees by Mighty Fine with the message, “Anything Ken can do Barbie can do better”; a $550 coffee-table art book; a $4,800 Layna and Alan Friedman white topaz and diamond pendant necklace surrounded by Barbie butterflies.

Field’s line looks expensive, but the pieces are affordable -- $40 tapestry wallets and a $110 black faux-croc tote festooned with a gold Barbie silhouette.

Tarantino’s collection features chunky pink costume jewelry that the doll herself might wear, including an oversize pink Lucite heart pendant for $150 and a sparkly $500 tiara featuring a vintage silhouette on the crown.

For the fashion-loving pooch, the Friedmans designed a Barbie sterling silver dog tag necklace for $325; there’s also a pink-diamond version for $2,450.
