at No. 10 Ohio State 42, Michigan 7: Chris “Beanie” Wells rushed for 134 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown run, to lead the Buckeyes (10-2, 7-1) over the Wolverines (3-9, 2-6) at Columbus for their unprecedented fifth straight win in the series. Ohio State’s margin was its biggest since Woody Hayes was coach in a 50-14 rout in 1968. The win gave Ohio State a share of its fourth straight Big Ten title.

at Purdue 62, Indiana 10: Curtis Painter threw for 448 yards and five touchdowns, and the Boilermakers (4-8, 2-6) scored on their first 10 possessions to beat the Hoosiers (3-9, 1-7) at West Lafayette, Ind., and send Joe Tiller out a winner in his final game as coach.

at Northwestern 27, Illinois 10: C.J. Bacher threw two touchdown passes and the Wildcats (9-3, 5-3) won nine games for only the fifth time after defeating the Fighting Illini (5-7, 3-5) at Evanston, Ill.

Iowa 55, at Minnesota 0: Shonn Greene rushed for 144 yards at Minneapolis to give him a school-record 1,729 for the season as the Hawkeyes (8-4, 5-3) handed the Golden Gophers (7-5, 3-5) their second-worst home loss after an 84-13 defeat to Nebraska in 1983.

at Wisconsin 36, Cal Poly SLO 35 (OT): The Badgers (7-5) escaped an upset bid, mounting a late comeback and capitalizing on three missed extra-point attempts by Andrew Gardner, including one in overtime, to beat the Mustangs (8-2) at Madison. John Clay’s touchdown run and Phil Welch’s extra point in overtime won it.
