Just as no two snowflakes are identical, the iconic pattern has been interpreted in this season’s home decor in seemingly infinite ways. The renderings are ornately filigreed or pared down, a simple graphic or more complex prints with a tinge of the Scandinavian, Shaker, Native American or Moroccan. “It’s hard to do snowflakes in Los Angeles,” says interior designer Peter Dunham, creator of a Santa Fe-meets-midcentury linen print whose imagery can serve as an alternative to the typical winter white stuff. “The holidays are all about celebrating color and pattern,” he says. “And you can get a lot of punch out of cushions, throws, bedding and linens, even if you only do it for the season.”
