MILITARY DEATHS

The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Anthony Davis, 43, of Triangle, Va.; master sergeant, Army. Davis was one of two U.S. troops shot and killed Tuesday when a man in an Iraqi army uniform opened fire on them as they distributed humanitarian aid in Baaj, near the Syrian border. Davis was assigned to the Military Transition Team, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Warren A. Frank, 26, of Cincinnati; captain, Marine Corps. Frank was one of two U.S. troops shot and killed Tuesday when a man in an Iraqi army uniform opened fire on them as they distributed humanitarian aid in Baaj, near the Syrian border. Frank was assigned to the 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan.

William K. Jernigan, 35, of Doraville, Ga.; first lieutenant, Army. Jernigan died of noncombat-related injuries Monday in Baqubah, northeast of Baghdad. He was assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska.

Miguel A. Wilson, 36, of Bonham, Texas; sergeant first class, Army. Wilson was killed Nov. 21 while attempting to rescue a soldier during a reconnaissance mission in Abu Sayf, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Hood, Texas.
