Frustration over immigration

Re “More than 300 arrested in immigration sweep,” Oct. 8

If U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will kindly conduct a few raids in Los Angeles, maybe my youthful relatives will find entry-level jobs.

How did the leading domestic issue become a campaign non-issue? Do candidates think the problem will go away? Do they believe voters won’t notice that American labor is drowning in debt, as legal and illegal foreign labor takes millions of jobs and drives down wages?

How can Americans not be angry as political correctness is crammed down our throats; as grandma is strip-searched before boarding a plane to avoid profiling; as illegals are placed in front of Americans for university acceptance?

It may well be that these token raids are keeping the lid on a steaming kettle of frustration with self-serving elected officials. Each time the anger bubbles to the surface, I hear accusations of racism from La Raza and others. I’m confident they know that the anger has nothing to do with race but with leaders who care nothing for the welfare of Americans.
