They’re wild at heart

Even those opposed to the practice of mounting wild beasts for display may appreciate the beauty of William Curtis Rolf’s photographs, staged in the lavishly appointed Deyrolle taxidermy salon in Paris. The surreal pictures, eagerly snapped up by interior designers such as Martyn Lawrence-Bullard and wildlife enthusiasts like Kid Rock, are part of a Rolf exhibition opening Friday at the gallery Voila! Limited editions of six images, available as color or monochrome prints, sell in two sizes: Unframed 32-by-48-inch prints start at $5,200, and 17-by-22-inch images are $2,200. The public can see the work at a reception for Rolf to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday; RSVP to rsvp@voilagallery.com. 518 N. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles; (323) 954-0418; www.voilagallery.com.
