* at No. 10 Georgia 24, No. 22 Vanderbilt 14: Knowshon Moreno rushed for a season-high 172 yards, freshman A.J. Green had 132 yards receiving and the Bulldogs (6-1, 3-1) overcame mistakes to beat the Commodores (5-2, 3-2) at Athens. Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes for Georgia, which twice built 14-point leads but didn’t put away Vanderbilt until Blair Walsh kicked a 39-yard field goal with 17 seconds left.

* No. 13 Louisiana State 24, at South Carolina 17: Jarrett Lee completed 16 of 26 passes for 189 yards and the Tigers (5-1, 3-1) held the Gamecocks (5-3, 2-3) to minus-seven yards in the fourth quarter in a victory at Columbia. LSU took the lead for good on Charles Scott’s two-yard touchdown run with 4:16 to go. It capped a grinding, 83-yard drive that took more than six minutes off the clock. Then Curtis Taylor picked off Stephen Garcia two plays later, souring an otherwise remarkable game for the freshman, who accounted for 230 of 254 yards for South Carolina in the first start of his career. The Tigers had a season-best six sacks.

* at Tennessee 34, Mississippi State 3: Eric Berry shattered a 60-year-old SEC record with a 72-yard interception return, and the Volunteers (3-4, 1-3) avoided their worst conference start in two decades by beating the Bulldogs (2-5, 1-3) at Knoxville. Berry picked off a pass by Tyson Lee with 10:37 left in the fourth quarter and ran it back for a touchdown to put the Vols up 20-3.

* at Kentucky 21, Arkansas 20: Mike Hartline threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Randall Cobb to help the Wildcats (5-2, 1-2) beat the Razorbacks (3-4, 1-3) at Lexington. Marcus McClinton’s interception in the final seconds allowed Kentucky to run out the clock.
