at Boston 7, Toronto 0: Red Sox starter Tim Wakefield (9-10) got the win but was pulled without getting a chance for his first shutout since 1997 as the Blue Jays lost for only the second time in 13 games. The teams were able to finish despite a 41-minute rain delay at the start and a drizzle through much of the game.

at Cleveland 12, Kansas City 5: Indians starter Cliff Lee (22-2), who is scheduled to have three more starts this season, gained the victory but was three outs away from his fifth complete game when the Royals, who had 11 hits, scored three runs off him in the ninth.

Texas 7, at Oakland 0: Matt Harrison (8-3) pitched a five-hitter for his first career shutout and complete game. He retired 14 of the last 16 batters he faced.
