* St. Louis 5, at Cincinnati 4: Albert Pujols hit a three-run homer (his 34th of the season) and Kyle Lohse won his first start since coming off a suspension.
* Philadelphia 4, at Atlanta 3: Pat Burrell hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the sixth inning and the Phillies remained half a game ahead of the Mets in the East with their season-best seventh straight win.
* New York 7, at Washington 2: Johan Santana took a shutout into the seventh inning and improved to 7-0 with a 2.26 ERA over his last 14 starts.
* at Chicago 7, Milwaukee 6 (12 innings): Geovany Soto hit a tying three-run homer with two out in the ninth and Derrek Lee singled in the winning run in the 12th.
* at Arizona 3, San Francisco 2: Adam Dunn’s two-out single in the eighth inning drove in the deciding run.
* Dodgers 4, at Pittsburgh 3 (12 innings): James Loney singled in the go-ahead run.
