* at Milwaukee 7, Pittsburgh 5: Prince Fielder hit a home run with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning.
* Cincinnati 2, at Houston 1: Edinson Volquez (17-6) struck out nine in 7 1/3 innings.
* at Washington 9, Florida 4: The Marlins’ playoff hopes officially ended with their fourth consecutive loss.
* Colorado 9, at San Francisco 4: Sean Smith and Troy Tulowitzki each had three hits, including a home run apiece, to lead the Rockies.
* at St. Louis 7, Arizona 4: Kyle Lohse won his 15th game and the Cardinals battered Randy Johnson for the second time this month.
