A man has testified that the son of a former Assembly speaker and his friend admitted stabbing someone during a fight near San Diego State University last October.
John Murray’s testimony came Wednesday at a preliminary hearing for Esteban Nunez, Rafael Garcia, Ryan Jett and Leshanor Thomas. Nunez is the son of former Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez. The four are charged in the death of college student Luis Santos outside a fraternity party.
Murray testified that Nunez told him he stabbed someone in the shoulder and Jett stabbed someone, too. Murray testified that the confrontation began as a verbal exchange.
