at Baltimore 10, Chicago 3: Brad Bergesen gave up one earned run in 5 2/3 innings in his major league debut, Aubrey Huff hit two home runs and the Orioles ended a skid at five games.
at New York 5, Oakland 3: Johnny Damon hit a home run and center fielder Brett Gardner made an outstanding catch and had a two-run single for the Yankees.
at Seattle 4, Tampa Bay 2: Jarrod Washburn pitched seven innings and Rob Johnson had a two-run triple for the Mariners. Washburn has won his first three decisions for the first time since he started his career 4-0 in 1998.
Minnesota at Boston, ppd.: The game was rained out and rescheduled as the first game of a day-night doubleheader today.
at Angels 4, Detroit 3: Torii Hunter tied the score with a solo home run in the fifth inning and scored the go-ahead run on Gary Matthews Jr.’s two-out double in the eighth.
