at San Francisco 2, Philadelphia 0: Tim Lincecum (12-3) struck out eight in eight innings and Brian Wilson earned his 27th save to give the Giants a major league-leading 14th shutout.

Chicago 9, at Florida 8 (10 innings): Derek Lee led off the 10th inning with a home run for the Cubs, who blew a three-run lead in the ninth.

at San Diego 4, Milwaukee 2: Ryan Braun's outfield miscue allowed the go-ahead run to score in the sixth inning.

at New York 9, Arizona 6: Angel Pagan hit a tiebreaking grand slam in the eighth inning and finished with a career-high five runs batted in.
