A suspect in the fatal shooting last year of a 16-year-old Sun Valley boy has been apprehended in Mexico, authorities said today.
David Aranda Hernandez was found Tuesday in the Mexican state of Sinaloa after a yearlong investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and FBI, authorities said.
Authorities said Aranda is suspected of shooting Edward Satterstron several times in the chest on Aug. 3, 2008, while he waited near Laurel Canyon and Roscoe boulevards in Sun Valley.
Satterstron, who played football at John H. Francis Polytechnic High School, stumbled into a nearby Taco Bell restaurant and collapsed. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Aranda is expected to be extradited to face murder charges, the LAPD said.
