TORONTO — Jason Bay hit a two-run home run, David Ortiz and Victor Martinez added solo shots and the Boston Red Sox beat Roy Halladay and the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-1, Wednesday night.
“We’ve been swinging good and when you’re swinging good, that’s what happens,” said Ortiz, who has hit a home run in three consecutive games.
Boston, which moved one game in front of Texas in the American League wild-card race, has hit at least two home runs in five games in a row.
Bay, who has hit a home run in seven of his last 11 games, hit a two-run drive to left field in the fifth inning, his team-high 27th, to make it 5-1.
