Nice coverage of the new Dodgers spring training facility [“Bring on the Heat!,” Feb. 15]. I was surprised that not one word was mentioned about how much more expensive seats are in this new stadium, compared with the rest of the Cactus League. For considerably less, I will enjoy the same relative view at Tempe Diablo Stadium. Once again, it’s the McCourts gouging the fans while Arte Moreno provides the value. Go Angels!

Four pages of Sunday’s Travel section were devoted to the new L.A. Dodgers facility in Arizona. Two paragraphs were devoted to the “L.A.” Angels facility. See what changing the name got you, Arte Moreno?

I lived in Arizona for eight years as vice president/sales for the Cardinals, so I got to enjoy spring training firsthand. I’d add that teams like the desert better because they’re close to one another. In the Grapefruit League, it’s miles of bad road, and there are far more rainouts in Florida than in Arizona.
