Favorite homes: The Dec. 27 cover package, which featured a panel of experts’ selections of their favorite houses in Southern California, included an incorrect photograph to represent the 1968 Kappe House in Pacific Palisades. The photo was of another Ray Kappe-designed house, the 1973 Katzenstein House, also in Pacific Palisades. The 1968 Kappe House is at left. Also in this cover package, a caption described Rudolph Schindler’s Kings Road House in West Hollywood as the first residence built in the Modern style, a subjective observation that some experts contest.
