Update: Each team had an impressive win its last game: The Ducks defeated Phoenix, 2-0, on Sunday and the Kings defeated Philadelphia, 2-1, in a shootout Saturday. Each also is 4-4-2 over its previous 10 games. Despite losing power-play triggerman Teemu Selanne, the Ducks are six for 17 on the power play in their last four games. Their offense has been boosted by Bobby Ryan, who has three goals and 11 points in his last eight games. Their penalty killing has also been sharp, killing 13 of 14 disadvantages over the last three games. The Kings have won two of their last three games. Goalie Jonathan Quick is scheduled to make his seventh consecutive start. In his last five starts he stopped 128 of 132 shots (.970 save percentage) and has a goals-against average of 0.993. Overall, he’s 4-5-0 with a 1.59 goals-against average and .943 save percentage. As a team, the Kings have allowed opponents the fewest shots in the NHL, 999. That’s an average of 26.3 per game.
