Danish designer Jens Risom’s first foray into creating furniture for modern American homes was the 666 WSP, an instantly recognizable World War II-era chair with a beech frame and webbing made from parachute straps. Later, in 1949, designing for the Caribe Hilton in Puerto Rico, he crafted a lounge chair and ottoman -- classics that the 92-year-old Risom has now partnered with Design Within Reach to reproduce. The Jens armchair and ottoman are available with a new bench made of a solid maple frame and reversible slipcovered cushions in mushroom, shown here, and chartreuse. Floor models arrive next week at select DWR studios, including locations in L.A., Beverly Hills and Newport Beach. Through Jan. 27, the chain’s flooring and upholstered furniture are 20% off, reducing the armchair to $880, the ottoman to $440 and the bench to $1,100. www.dwr.com.
