‘Miracle’ acquittals
Re “Carona is acquitted on most counts,” Jan. 17
After being acquitted on the five major charges, former Orange County Sheriff Michael S. Corona was quoted as saying the acquittals were an “absolute miracle.”
One would prefer a public statement to the effect that his acquittals were the result of the reasoned judgment of the jurors, based on the evidence.
For Corona to publicly call his acquittals a miracle is very stupid and suggests that he thought himself to be guilty all along.
