Times Staff And Wire Reports

Vintage International Inc. in Hacienda Heights is recalling about 2,300 National and Sanyo hand-held hair dryers because the products don’t have immersion protection devices to prevent electrocution if the dryers fall into water.

The hair dryers were sold at Los Angeles-area stores from January 2006 to August 2008 for $20 to $40, the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the recalled hair dryers immediately and return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund or replacement.

The hair dryers are made of plastic and chrome with a fold-up handle. They come in blue, pink, white and black. The recalled hair dryers have model numbers EH-5202, EH-5215, EH-5216, EH-7911, EH-7912, or EH-7913 and “National” or “Sanyo” on the hair dryer’s nozzle or handle. Information: (888) 711-4656.
