VS. FC GOLD PRIDE

Time: 3 p.m.

On the air: FSC.

Where: Home Depot Center.

Records: Sol 7-1-4, Gold Pride 3-2-3.

Record vs. Gold Pride: 2-0.

Update: Coach Abner Rogers’ first-place Sol team shut out the Gold Pride 1-0 in April and 2-0 in May, so a 3-0 win in June would make for good symmetry. The Sol has never lost at home (5-0-2) and is unbeaten in its last seven games. It has outscored its opponents 15-4 in its dozen matches. As part of a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the United States’ victory in the 1999 Women’s World Cup, two members of the victorious team, Mia Hamm and Joy Fawcett, will be recognized at halftime of today’s game. Two other members of that U.S. team, Brandi Chastain and Tiffeny Milbrett, are on the Gold Pride roster. The Sol trimmed its own roster last week, waiving defender Greer Barnes. A fourth-round pick in the Women’s Professional Soccer draft, Barnes had not played any minutes this season.
