United Airlines gets it wrong

Share

Regarding Eleanor Van Natta’s “United Airlines Gets It Right” letter [June 7]. Not all the time!

My husband and I flew United from L.A. to Dulles to connect with a flight to Buenos Aires, all paid for. We were meeting friends to take a 16-day cruise around South America. UA sold our seats from Dulles to Buenos Aires to someone else and we were bumped off the flight.

We should have know something was wrong when we asked for our boarding passes for our connecting flight and were told by the agent at LAX that there was an “equipment change” and we’d receive them at Dulles.

The agent at Dulles told

us the same thing, adding

that we were definitely on the flight. They never let us board. To make matters worse,

they couldn’t connect us on time to meet with our friends. We missed the cruise of a lifetime.
