Re “Colombia’s still waiting,” editorial, March 4
Ordinary Colombians feel their country is moving in the right direction. Efforts to control the cocaine trade have been epic, paramilitaries are demobilized, and crime rates are decreasing in all layers of society.
For these and other reasons, many Colombians do not understand why the U.S. government insists on dismissing our achievements and believes that restricting free trade could possibly lead to improving Colombia’s performance.
