UC Santa Barbara beats Long Beach State at the buzzer

at UC Santa Barbara 76, Long Beach State 75: James Nunnally made a three-point basket at the buzzer to give the Gauchos (15-14, 8-8 Big West) a victory and keep the 49ers (15-14, 10-6) from getting the No. 1 seeding in the conference tournament. As the second-seeded team, the 49ers advance into the semifinals Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center. The Gauchos play Thursday.

at Pacific 60, Cal State Northridge 55: The Matadors (15-13, 11-5 Big West) finished in first place in the conference despite losing to the Tigers (16-11, 10-6) and open conference-tournament play Friday in the semifinals.

at UC Irvine 65, Cal State Fullerton 62: Brett Lauer made two free throws with seven seconds left to help the Anteaters (12-18, 8-8 Big West) defeat the Titans (14-16, 7-9). UC Irvine plays Wednesday in the conference tournament.

UC Riverside 76, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 69: The Highlanders (17-12, 8-8 Big West) will be the No. 6-seeded team and open the conference tournament Wednesday against Cal State Fullerton. Cal Poly finished 7-21, 3-13.

WOMEN

USC 94, at Oregon 64: Heather Oliver scored 16 points as the Trojans (15-14, 9-9 Pac-10) shot 57% to defeat the Ducks (9-20, 5-13) and stop a three-game losing streak. The Trojans play their opener in the conference tournament against Arizona State on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Galen Center.

at Oregon State 61, UCLA 58: Darxia Morris’ 16 points weren’t enough for the Bruins (18-11, 9-9 Pacific-10 Conference) in a loss to . Oregon State (19-10, 9-9). The teams will meet again in the conference tournament Friday night at 7:15.
