General Motors Corp. is recalling 276,729 new cars and light trucks to fix a glitch in transmissions that could enable the vehicles to roll away when parked.

The voluntary recall affects certain 2009 Buicks, Chevrolets, GMCs, Pontiacs and Saturns, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. Only about 75,000 of the vehicles have been delivered to customers.
