A psychiatrist for Anna Nicole Smith surrendered to police Monday to face charges that she repeatedly supplied the former Playboy centerfold with addictive prescription drugs, authorities said.

Khristine Eroshevich, 61, turned herself in about 10:30 a.m. at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys station. Her bail was set at $20,000.

In addition to Eroshevich, Smith’s boyfriend and attorney, Howard Kevin Stern, and another of her doctors, Sandeep Kapoor, were charged with “unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance” and conspiring to “commit the crimes of prescribing, administering and dispensing controlled substances to an addict,” according to the offices of the California attorney general and the Los Angeles County district attorney.

The doctors also were charged with one count each of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address and one count each of obtaining a prescription for opiates by “fraud, deceit or misrepresentation,” according to the district attorney’s office. An attorney for Eroshevich said it was necessary for the psychiatrist to use false names on prescriptions to protect her patient’s confidentiality.
