Pittsburgh 2, at Washington 1: Joel Hanrahan’s wild pitch in the ninth inning gave the Nationals’ relievers a 1-15 record.
at St. Louis 2, Chicago 1: Chris Carpenter returned to St. Louis’ rotation with five scoreless innings.
at San Diego 2, San Francisco 1: Kevin Kouzmanoff’s homer was one of four hits for the Padres, who won their fifth in a row.
at Florida 8-9, Arizona 6-11: Justin Upton’s three-run homer in the 13th inning gave the Diamondbacks a split after Dan Uggla homered and drove in four runs in the opener.
at Dodgers 2, New York 1: Russell Martin got the clutch hit in the eighth inning.
