Catch him wearing same cap if you can

After studying the archives of photos taken of Leonardo DiCaprio at Lakers home games, Canada’s National Post has a scoop: DiCaprio never seems to wear the same baseball cap!

The Post’s website features a sampling of photos dating to 2004. DiCaprio is pictured wearing caps from Florida Atlantic University, Rhode Island, Virginia Commonwealth, Arizona State and Long Beach State.

The Post’s Noah Love writes: “In an effort to compensate for the fact that he never went to college [he was busy being insanely famous], the Oscar-nominated actor seems determined to pretend he went to all of them.”

Trivia time

What is significant about the first night game at Ebbets Field, June 15, 1938?

Quarterback sacked

Minnesota Vikings legend Fran Tarkenton isn’t thrilled by the prospect of Brett Favre adding his name to the club’s all-time quarterbacks roster. During an interview with Atlanta radio station 790 the Zone, Tarkenton described Favre’s attitude as “despicable.”

“What he put the Packers through last year was not good,” Tarkenton said. “Here’s an organization that was loyal to him for 17, 18 years, provided stability of organization, provided players.

“It just wasn’t about Brett Favre. In this day and time, we have glorified the Brett Favres of the world so much, they think it’s about them. He goes to New York and bombs.

“He’s 39 years old. How would you like Ray Nitschke in his last year [playing for] the Vikings, or I retire and go play for the Packers? I kind of hope it happens, so he can fail.”

Chasing the Benjamins

After Detroit Lions defensive end Eric Hicks failed to run down Matthew Stafford on a rollout play during a recent workout, Hicks had a few words for the $41.7-million rookie quarterback.

According to the Detroit News, Hicks told Stafford, “Sorry I couldn’t catch you. I was just picking up all the money falling out of your pockets.”
