Darren Collison leads Hornets over Hawks
Rookie Darren Collison had 22 points and 11 assists for his first double-double, and the New Orleans Hornets won their third in a row while ending the Atlanta Hawks’ seven-game winning streak, 96-88 on Saturday night.
Collison, the former UCLA point guard who is filling in for the injured Chris Paul, is averaging 14.5 points in the last six games.
Fellow rookie Marcus Thornton scored 21 for the Hornets, who made 12 of 17 three-point attempts. Peja Stojakovic made five from long range and finished with 17 points.
