QUICK TAKES - Sept. 11, 2009
Discovery Channel announced Thursday that it is embarking on an ambitious television project examining the scientific mysteries of the universe. “Curiosity: The Questions of Our Life,” will be a 60-episode series that explores the underpinnings of space, biology, history and the human mind, among other topics.
The five-year program, which is not set to air until January 2011, will be paired with educational content aimed at students in kindergarten through high school.
The network compared the reach of the program to its visually arresting series “Planet Earth.” The subject matter will be broad, with episodes exploring questions such as: “Where will artificial intelligence lead?” and “What is consciousness?”
