Pat Metheny: Taking inspiration from player pianos and orchestrions — mechanical music boxes meant to imitate orchestras — the renowned jazz guitarist has developed an automated rig of guitars, marimbas, vibraphones, percussion instruments and more, all of which he operates in real time.
