American Carnage Tour Three old-guard titans of thrash metal unite for an evening that may have, pound-for-pound, more drum fills and tapping solos than any concert in decades. Megadeth headlines the bill with their orthodox and pyrotechnic riffery alongside the blood-soaked carnage and technical precision of Slayer, but come early for the growly tumult of Testament. Long Beach Arena, 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach. 7 p.m. $15.75-$54.40. (562) 436-3661.
MOVIES
Shooting April Filmmaker Tod Lancaster will join David Branin and Karen Worden, hosts of the Internet radio show “Film Courage,” at this premiere screening. Lancaster’s film “Shooting April” is a disturbing drama about three YouTube-obsessed guys who take their compulsion too far. A Q&A and an in-depth discussion about the state of independent film will follow. Downtown Independent, 251 S. Main St., L.A. 7 p.m. $10. (213) 617-1033. https://www.downtownindependent.com.
Bill & Ted double feature Something strange is afoot at the Circle K. Or, rather at the New Beverly, which will host a double-bill of the so-dumb-they-might-be-errant-genius buddy comedies featuring the illustrious Bill & Ted, in their eponymous “Excellent Adventure” and “Bogus Journey.” Screenwriter Ed Solomon and star Alex Winter will be there to field questions about the prospect of a Wyld Stallyns album and such. New Beverly Cinema, 7165 Beverly Blvd., L.A. 7:30 p.m. $7. https://www.newbevcinema.com.
