Karen Bass candidacy: An article in Thursday’s LATExtra section on Assembly Speaker Karen Bass announcing her candidacy for Rep. Diane Watson’s congressional seat said Bass was among those who took formal steps to run before Watson announced her plans to retire. Bass was not among that group.

GOP event: An article in Friday’s Section A about the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington referred to Rep. John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) as the House majority leader. He is the minority leader.

Lakers-Celtics game: In some editions of Friday’s Sports section, a score line over the article on the Lakers’ game against the Boston Celtics gave the score as Lakers 87, Boston 86. The Celtics won, 87-86.

Pension funds: An article in Thursday’s Business section said that California’s two public retirement funds had set aside less than 1% of the $62 billion they need to cover lifetime health insurance benefits for retirees. It is the state and school districts, which contribute to those retirement funds, that have set aside less than 1%.

Olympic medals: In some editions of Friday’s Vancouver Olympics section, a chart of the medal leaders atop Page V2 listed the United States with 17 medals overall (five gold, five silver and seven bronze). As of Friday, the U.S. had 18 medals (six gold, five silver and seven bronze).

Robert Turturice obituary: A headline on the obituary of Emmy-winning costume designer Robert Turturice in Thursday’s Section A said he died in 2010. He died Dec. 15, 2009.

Calorie facts: An article in Monday’s Health section about the basic facts of calories defined a calorie as the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree Celsius. That is the correct definition for the so-called small calorie. However, the unit of measure used to state the energy content of food, which is what the article referred to, is the large calorie: the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water by 1 degree Celsius.
