USC football: A photograph accompanying an article on the front page of the Sunday Sports section on possible candidates to succeed USC coach Pete Carroll was not of Oregon State Coach Mike Riley, as the caption said. The individual pictured was Oregon State assistant coach Jay Locey.

Wonder Valley: An article in the Jan. 5 Section A about tensions over off-roading in the desert community of Wonder Valley incorrectly stated the first name of resident Tom McEntire as John.

Percy Sutton obituary: The obituary of civil rights attorney Percy Sutton in the Dec. 28 Section A said his father was born into slavery. Sutton’s father was born free in Texas.

Sam Cooke: A review of the documentary “Sam Cooke: Crossing Over” in Monday’s Calendar section referred to the singer’s shooting death outside a Watts motel room in 1964. The motel was at 9137 S. Figueroa St. in South-Central Los Angeles.

Stylist B. Akerlund: An article about B. Akerlund in the Dec. 20 Image section said she was the first official professional stylist to work with Lady Gaga. Akerlund is one of several stylists who have worked with the singer, but she was not the first.

Party planners: A photo of a bar mitzvah that accompanied the Image section’s Scene & Heard column on Sunday was credited to Radiant Photography. The company’s full name is Radiant Digital Photography.
