POP MUSIC

The xx The young British band’s self-titled debut is a quiet, 3 a.m. (eternal) masterpiece of smoky restraint. Singer and guitarist Romy Madley Croft looks like a young Alison Moyet and picks at her guitar with intent, bassist Oliver Sim moves to and from the mike with casual grace, and percussionist Jamie Smith pokes at vintage synthetic beat boxes using his fingers as drumsticks. The Music Box @ Fonda, 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles. 8 p.m. Saturday. $22.50. https://www.henryfondatheater.com. Also at the Wiltern, 3790 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. 8 p.m. Sunday. $25. https://www.wiltern.com

50 Cent The world-busting rapper whose take-no-prisoners lyrical style has landed him in more than a few hip-hop feuds stops in L.A. with his latest tour, “The Invitation.” He’s been humbled a bit on the charts for recent albums but seems to be imbued with a new lyrical fire from it. Ventura Theatre, 26 S. Chestnut St., Ventura. 7 p.m. $50-$70. https://www.venturatheater.net.
