POP MUSIC

The Black Eyed Peas Their ubiquitous recent singles have made the skulls of anyone within earshot of a radio go “Boom Boom Pow” for months now. But the backpack rappers-turned-commercial leviathans define pop music like few other acts right now: pan-ethnic, hook devoted, lyrically so-dumb-it-might-be-brilliant, and structurally scattershot in a ring tone-ready way. Staples Center, 1111 S. Figueroa St., L.A. 7:30 p.m. $49.50-$89.50. (213) 742-7300.

Chicago Since all other Mom-friendly ‘70s rock is back en vogue (Hello, Stevie Nicks), why not Chicago? Pop music needs more saxophone in its life right now. Fred Kavli Theatre, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. 8 p.m. $77-$82. www.toaks.org.
