Gays in the military: A brief news item in Saturday’s Section A about not making Marines bunk with gays or lesbians if gays are allowed to serve openly in the military said that the Marine Corps’ top uniformed officer, Gen. James T. Conway, was chief of staff of the Marine Corps. His title is commandant of the Marine Corps.

Ed Asner: The Sunday Conversation column with Ed Asner in Sunday’s Calendar section said that his character Lou Grant was an editor on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and the spinoff “Lou Grant.” Grant was a TV news producer on Moore’s series.
