GAMES TO WATCH
No. 2 Auburn (11-0) at No. 9 Alabama (9-2)
Friday, 11:30 a.m. PST, Channel 2
Alabama can’t win the national title this year but it can do the next best thing: knock Auburn out. The “Iron Bowl” is a rivalry that divides a state with no major “professional” teams unless pay-for-play allegations about Cam Newton prove to be true. The pick: Alabama.
No. 20 Arizona (7-3) at No. 1 Oregon (10-0)
Friday, 4 p.m., ESPN
Oregon, with a win, clinches its second consecutive Pacific 10 Conference title and moves one week closer to playing for the national championship. The Ducks are coming off a sluggish 15-13 win at California but now are coming off a bye week. The pick: Oregon.
No. 3 Boise State (10-0) at No. 19 Nevada (10-1)
Friday, 7:15 p.m., ESPN
Boise State will likely be playing for no worse than a Rose Bowl berth when it takes the field in Reno. If Alabama has already defeated Auburn in Tuscaloosa earlier that day, the Broncos could be playing for a berth in the Bowl Championship Series title game. The pick: Boise State.
