Up next for Chivas USA: Friday at Seattle
Chivas USA tonight
AT SEATTLE SOUNDERS
When: 8 PDT
Where: Qwest Field, Seattle.
On the air: TV: ESPN Deportes, ESPN 2; Radio: AM 690 (Spanish).
Records: Chivas 8-15-4; Sounders 13-9-6.
Record vs. Sounders: 0-1-1.
Update: At this point it’s about pride for Chivas USA, which has no shot at making the MLS playoffs but can hold off the Houston Dynamo and avoid finishing last in the Western Conference with strong performances in its final three matches. Chivas has never lost to Seattle in MLS play — the only MLS team that can make that claim — and has never given up a goal to the Sounders in the team’s two seasons in the league. Outside the MLS schedule, however, Seattle has had better luck, beating Chivas, 3-1, in the U.S. Open Cup last month. Chivas ended a three-match losing streak with a win over expansion Toronto on Saturday but will play this match without suspended forward Alan Gordon and defender Dario Delgado, who is out with a foot fracture. Playoff-bound Seattle, meanwhile, has won five in a row.
