Climate change: A profile of Sen. Barbara Boxer in the Oct. 21 Section A incorrectly said that Republicans on the Senate’s environment committee unanimously had voted against a bill on climate change that Boxer pushed in 2007. One Republican member of the committee, Sen. John Warner of Virginia, supported the bill.

Fitness DVD: The In-Your-Face Fitness column in the Oct. 11 Health section about a kettle bells instructional DVD by Jillian Michaels said that Michaels obtained introductory fitness certifications 17 years ago but didn’t seem to have recertified, based on information on her website. After the column was published, Michaels provided copies of her most recent certifications with the Aerobics and Fitness Assn. of America and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Assn., and the two organizations confirmed that her credentials with them are up to date.

Student meals: An article in the Oct. 22 LATExtra section about an audit of the nutrition services provided by California charter schools incorrectly stated that a federal law requires public schools to provide needy students with at least one nutritionally adequate meal a day at a reduced price or free of charge. That is a state requirement.

High school football: A chart in the Oct. 25 Sports Section incorrectly listed Gardena Serra High’s football opponent as St. Paul. Serra plays at home Friday night against Harvard-Westlake.

College football: A chart in the Oct. 25 Sports Section explaining the formula used to produce the Bowl Championship Series standings listed the maximum number of points possible in the Harris Interactive poll as 2,825. In fact, there are 2,850 points possible in the Harris poll, which is one of the indexes used to determine the weekly standings.
